Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas.

Essential Job Functions
  • Collect, report, and document clinical data, including vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and specimen collection.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing according to established policies, procedures, COLA, and CLIA regulations.
  • Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse/designee, based on the patient’s plan of care.
  • Provide superficial wound care.
  • Ensure patient safety related to age and condition.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
  • Provide and maintain a clean, safe environment, performing proper aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
Other Job Functions
  • Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations/procedures or assist with other treatments.
  • Maintain patient care areas with appropriate supplies.
  • Assist with patient restraints, maintain precautions, and document related data, including emergencies and unusual behavior.
  • Travel to all facility locations as required.
  • Attend staff and mandated meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required, with completion of one of the following:
    • Medical Corpsman program with one year of applicable experience, or
    • EMT-P, AEMT, or Licensed Paramedic course with one year of applicable experience, or
    • EMT-B with one year of ER technician or hospital experience (Oklahoma, North TX, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania markets), or
    • First-year nursing school with one year of applicable experience, or
    • 3+ years ER technician experience (Pittsburgh market), or
    • 3+ years CNA experience with hospital background (Wisconsin), or
    • 3+ years as an Anesthesia or OR Tech (Wisconsin).
  • Current BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross required.
  • Current ACLS/ALS certifications preferred (required in certain markets).
  • Current PALS certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with IV starts, phlebotomy, and EKG initiation preferred.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral, required.
