Job Summary: Geisinger is proud to offer an Emergency Room Technician I position with a $1500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. The role offers a minimum hiring rate of $15.76, with increased rates for experienced individuals, and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. We are also offering up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse.

Job Duties:

• Performs basic patient care under supervision of the Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment according to policies and procedures.
• Meets qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range of their assigned clinical area.
• Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
• Triages patient care by identifying, observing, and documenting physical needs.
• Reports changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse.
• Assists with procedures such as wound care, splinting, and EKGs.
• Provides patient care related to rehabilitation, supporting multidisciplinary care plans.
• Performs unit desk clerk functions when needed.
• Handles specimens and labels using proper procedures.
• Monitors blood glucose levels.
• Conducts urine and stool tests.
• Assists with transporting patients and medications, including blood products.
• Supports patients with daily activities and positioning.
• Manages access and transport of medications and supplies.
• Coordinates relations between care providers, patients, and visitors.
• Creates a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Work is performed in a clinical environment. The role requires compliance with organizational policies and additional department-specific competencies.
