FACILITY TYPE: 16 bed Small-Format Hospital (8 ER, 8 Inpatient)

Must be open to floating between the 2 facilities on as needed basis!

Position Overview:

The purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Collect, report, and document clinical data. Take vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and collect specimens.
2. Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations.
3. Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse/designee as indicated by the patient’s plan of care.
4. Provide for superficial wound care.
5. Provide for patient safety related to age and condition.
6. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
7. Provide and maintain a clean, safe environment and perform and/or assist others to perform proper aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
8. Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of the patient.

Other Job Functions:

1. Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations/procedures or assists with other patient treatments.
2. Maintain patient care areas with appropriate supplies.
3. Assist with patient restraints and maintain precautions; collect, report and document data related to patient needs/emergencies and unusual patient and family behavior.
4. Travel to all facility locations as required.
5. Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED, required and completion of one of the following:
2. Completion of Medical Corpsman program and one year of applicable experience (OR)
3. Completion of EMT-P (Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic), AEMT (Advanced-EMT), Licensed Paramedic (LP) course/program and one year of applicable experience (OR)
4. Completion of EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician-Basic) and 1+ years of emergency room experience as an ER Technician or hospital equivalent experience [Oklahoma, North TX, Wisconsin & Pennsylvania markets only] (OR)
5. Completion of the first year of education and current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing and one year of applicable experience (OR)
6. 3+ years of emergency room experience as an ER Technician [2+ years in Pittsburgh market only] (OR)
7. 3+ years as a CNA with relevant hospital experience (Wisconsin market only).
8. 3+ years as a Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech experience (Wisconsin market only).
9. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, required.
10. Current ACLS/ALS certifications through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, required in all markets with the exception of Pennsylvania (strongly preferred) and Wisconsin (only required for EMT-P).
11. Current PALS certifications through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, strongly preferred.
12. Experience with IV start, phlebotomy, and initiation of EKG, strongly preferred.
13. Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication.
