Position Overview

This position provides technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet individual patient needs throughout assigned areas.

Essential Job Functions
  • Collect, report, and document clinical data, including vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and specimen collection.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing per policies, procedures, COLA, and CLIA regulations.
  • Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse/designee, based on the patient’s plan of care.
  • Provide superficial wound care.
  • Ensure patient safety related to age and condition.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide and maintain a clean, safe environment, and assist with aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
Other Job Functions
  • Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations/procedures, and assist with other treatments.
  • Maintain supplies in patient care areas.
  • Assist with patient restraints, and document data related to patient needs, emergencies, and behavior.
  • Travel to all facility locations as required.
  • Attend staff and mandated meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required, with completion of one of the following:
    • Medical Corpsman program with one year of applicable experience.
    • EMT-P, AEMT, or Licensed Paramedic course with one year of applicable experience.
    • EMT-B with 1+ years of ER experience as an ER Technician (Oklahoma, North TX, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania markets).
    • First-year nursing education with one year of applicable experience.
    • 3+ years ER technician experience (Pittsburgh market).
    • 3+ years CNA experience with hospital background (Wisconsin market).
    • 3+ years as a Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech (Wisconsin market).
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • ACLS/ALS certifications preferred in all markets except Pennsylvania (strongly preferred) and Wisconsin (required for EMT-P).
  • PALS certifications strongly preferred.
  • Experience with IV starts, phlebotomy, and EKG initiation is strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral.
