Join University of MN Masonic Children's Hospital as an Emergency Department Technician (EDT)

We’re looking for a dedicated Emergency Department Technician (EDT) to support our expert care team in providing compassionate, responsive care to our patients when they need it most.

Schedule at a Glance
  • 0.75 FTE (60 hours per pay period)

  • 12 hour evening/night shifts

  • Every third weekend

What You’ll Do

As an Emergency Department Technician, you’ll be a vital member of our care team. You will:

  • Assist nurses with patient care such as vitals, EKGs, wound care, IV set-up, and more

  • Support emergency procedures and collect specimens

  • Transport patients, medical samples, and equipment safely and efficiently

  • Assist with splints, casts, and mobility aids

  • Prepare, stock, and clean rooms for fast and effective patient care

  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff to support a safe and respectful environment

  • Respond promptly to patient needs while maintaining patient privacy and dignity

What You Bring

Required:

  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers (must be current upon hire)
    And one of the following:

  • EMT, ERT, or Paramedic certification

  • Nursing Assistant on the Minnesota Registry

  • Enrollment in an LPN, RN, or NP program with at least one completed clinical rotation

  • Six months of recent direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting

  • Completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant Program

  • Current LPN licensure

Preferred:

  • One or more years of Emergency Department experience (e.g., ED Tech, EMT, Scribe)

  • Recent CNA, NST, or PCA experience
