Job summary

Intuitive Health is seeking an ER Technologist to support Legacy ER & Urgent Care locations in the DFW area. The role involves triaging patients, providing patient care, assisting physicians, and performing lab tests within a busy healthcare setting.

Applicants should hold LVN or EMT-P credentials, current BLS/ACLS, and be prepared to maintain HIPAA compliance while participating in ongoing education and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Requires LVN or EMT-P certification with active credentials.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS/ENPC preferred or within 60 days of hire.
  • High school diploma or GED accepted with relevant licenses.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and laboratory procedures is essential.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules and manuals; HIPAA compliance must be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients on arrival to determine ER vs urgent care pathway.
  • Provide general patient care, including therapeutic and diagnostic interventions.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Follow all company HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Assist physicians during treatment and communicate patient needs.
  • Collect specimens and conduct laboratory tests; process and document results.
  • Ensure compliance with lab policies and participate in continuous education and training.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and maintain required certifications.

Job Description
  • Triage all patients upon arrival to determine their location of treatment. (Emergency room versus urgent care)
  • Provide general patient care. This includes therapeutic and diagnostic intervention.
  • Provide age and education-specific education to all patients.
  • Assure a clean work environment. This may include duties often reserved for housekeeping services, such as emptying trash, mopping floors, and cleaning counters.
  • Follow all company policies.
  • Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Encourage a work environment that is friendly and respectful.
  • Provide patients and their families with a customer-focused, friendly, reassuring, and open environment that encourages patient participation in health care decisions.
  • Accurately interpret a physician’s instructions.
  • Assist the physician on duty with the treatment of patients. Communicate with the physician regarding the patient's needs and client feedback, and the operations coordinator's observation.
  • Collect specimens and conduct laboratory tests
  • Review and uphold lab policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with health team members to ensure the patient's well-being as evidenced by staff/client feedback. Support the efforts of team members
  • Execute physician orders, including administration of medications, treatments, and IVs according to policy and procedure
  • Observe and document the patient's response to pertinent medications.
  • Prepare specimens and operate lab equipment.
  • Review and uphold lab policies and procedures.
  • 100% attendance at mandatory skills training yearly.
  • Maintain all required professional certifications and licenses. Participate in any and all certifications of the facility.
  • Complete yearly assigned education on time
  • Attend a minimum of four staff meetings and read and sign all minutes of meetings not attended.
  • Patient education and discharge instructions.
  • Follow infection control and OSHA safety guidelines.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching as well as lifting and supporting patients.
  • This job operates in a healthcare setting. ER Technologist must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as radiation, noise, infectious/communicable diseases, blood and blood borne diseases, chemicals and/or chemical fumes, odors, gases and dusts. This position does require working near moving mechanical parts and being exposed to toxic or caustic materials. This position would require moderate noise from phones, computers, printers and medical equipment. The position does require standing, walking, sitting, use of hands, and reaching. The position may also require climbing, kneeling or crouching.
  • Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on‑call).

Qualifications
