Job summary

Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to join our Emergency Department. Under the immediate direction of the nurse, ERTs performs non-professional nursing care tasks for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and other duties deemed necessary to provide an environment conducive to patient care.

The ER Technician will work 7 PM–7:30 AM, with flex scheduling and every third weekend.

Qualifications

High School degree or equivalent required, plus at least one of the following: Graduate of a nursing assistant program, EMT training program, or experience as Nursing Assistant or ER Tech (2080 hours worked).
Current EMT certification (MN and/or National) required.
Current Nursing Assistant certification (MN) required.

Responsibilities

Perform delegated patient care functions, safely, effectively, timely and efficiently, based on the age and culturally specific needs of the patient populations on the unit served.
Communicates effectively with patients and families.
Demonstrates effective, collaborative working relationships with other health care team members and across the organization.
Participates as an effective unit and nursing department member.
Maintains and updates clinical knowledge.
