Job summary

Northwell Health in Manhasset, NY is seeking an ED Support Technician to assist the nursing staff in performing technical and laboratory duties exclusively in the Emergency Department. You will help prepare and treat patients, support triage staff, and ensure smooth workflow in a high-paced clinical setting.

Requirements include a High School diploma, NY EMT certification, BLS/ACLS, and 1-3 years of technical healthcare experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Current Emergency Medical Technician Certification in New York State and Current Basic Life Support/ACLS Professional Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
1-3 years of technical experience, required.

Responsibilities

Assists nursing staff in the preparation and treatment of patients in the Emergency Department.
Assists Emergency Department staff and triage nurse with various procedures including bleeding control, orthopedics, suturing, CPR and supplemental oxygen administration.
Transports telemetry patients to inpatient units.
Assists with various laboratory functions including transporting patients and specimens and utilizing analyzer as trained.
Documents all procedures in the medical record and ensures charts are countersigned by a RN.
