Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking an ED Tech for the Emergency Room to support patient care under the direction of the ED RN or Charge Nurse. This full-time role requires assisting with patient care within scope of practice and helping maintain a safe environment in a fast-paced ED.

The position welcomes candidates with a High School diploma, CNA certification, BLS, and related hospital or clinic experience.

Responsibilities

The ED Tech in the Emergency Room is an unlicensed assistive person who assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice; Assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent. 2. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred.3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current. Possess knowledge of Medical terminology. 4. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred. 5. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
