Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an RN II for the Full-Time Day Shift. This experienced staff nurse provides comprehensive nursing care, conducts assessments, educates patients, and maintains medical records.

The role partners with physicians and an interprofessional team to ensure safe, high-quality care and outcomes. The RN II demonstrates leadership in unit activities, may serve as charge nurse or preceptor, and contributes to hospital-wide initiatives with management.

Qualifications

• RN- Texas licensure required with permanent license within 60 days if relocating to Texas
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS are required or in-process within defined timeframe
• NV-Crisis Intervention certification preferred; magnet/ENPC/TNCC certifications advantageous

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and coordinate patient care with physicians and team
• Deliver patient education and document care and outcomes in medical records
• Lead unit activities, participate in governance, and mentor students/new staff
