Job Summary:

As the leader of the health care team, provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the organization. Remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Adapts care plans based on ongoing patient assessment and progress.
  • Ensures care meets standards of practice and includes effective discharge planning and patient education.
  • Ensures patient safety, pain management, and comfort, addressing anxieties and understanding medication instructions.
  • Patient Care Experience:
  • Practices customer service standards; promptly responds to patient needs and requests.
  • Makes appropriate referrals and facilitates resource utilization.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures a clean, functional work environment.
  • Treats families with courtesy, respect, kindness, and compassion.
  • Actively listens and takes responsibility for meeting patient and family needs, providing clear information and exceeding expectations.
