Job Summary:
As the leader of the health care team, provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the organization. Remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Nursing Process:

- Ensures plans include multidisciplinary input, are based on patient data, and are culturally and age appropriate.
- Discusses care plans with patients and families, revising as needed based on ongoing assessments.
- Ensures standards of practice are met and discharge planning is effective, including patient education and barrier identification.
- Ensures patient safety, effective pain control, and patient understanding of medication instructions.
- Patient Care Experience:
- Practices customer service standards, responds promptly to patient requests, and maintains confidentiality.
- Maintains a clean, orderly work environment and treats families with respect and compassion.

- Fiscal Responsibility:

Basic Qualifications:
- Current CA RN license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum six months recent full-time ED or Critical Care experience or successful completion of a KP ED training program within the past 12 months.
- Current ACLS and PALS Certification required.

Notes:
- If twelve-hour option is chosen, shift will be 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, with a backup 8-hour shift from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.
