Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) - Summary

• Deliver direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency room setting
• Assess, triage, and implement nursing interventions for patients with acute and critical conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed medical records
• Act as an advocate for patient safety and well-being throughout the continuum of care

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and thorough patient assessments upon entry to the emergency department
• Initiate and monitor intravenous (IV) therapy, medications, and other prescribed treatments
• Respond to emergency situations, including trauma, cardiac, and respiratory events
• Utilise advanced critical thinking skills to prioritize care under pressure
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams regarding patient status and care plans
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure quality and safety
• Assist with the orientation and training of new nursing staff as needed
