Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking an ER Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in Rochester, NY. The role offers 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, and floating assignments within the ED to support patient care during peak times.

Candidates must hold an active NY RN license and current BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC certifications, with Epic charting experience. Shifts include 7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM; compensation includes stipend components and base pay.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ED team and document patient care in Epic.

Flexible Shift 12 hours/day 3 days/week

Title: Registered Nurse - ER
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: 1425 Portland Ave Bldg 3 Rochester, NY 14621
Schedule: Floating Shift 3*12s 36hours/week

• Shift: 7 AM–7 PM / 7 PM–7 AM
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Experience: Not specified; first-time travelers accepted
• License: Active New York single-state RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (valid NIHSS required at submission), PALS, TNCC*
• Charting: Epic experience required
• Weekend: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Every other holiday, if needed
• RTO/Block: Submit requests at the time of submission
• Cancellation Policy: Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract without charges
• Local Rule: RNs within 75 miles are not accepted
• Ratios: 1:5
• Floating: Required within skill set
• Scrubs: Any combination of navy blue and white

Required Clinical Skills:

• IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy and IV insertion/maintenance
• IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Stroke (CVA), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury and TBI
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Adult/pediatric emergency care, gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma
• Triage, isolation precautions and pediatric spinal cord injury

Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients with all types of emergency diagnoses.

Special Equipment: Bair Hugger, rapid infuser and safe patient handling equipment.

Facility Highlights: 24/7 emergency department with a dedicated pediatric ED, crisis intervention unit, trauma suite and advanced stroke care.
