Job summary

AAMC in Abbeville, SC is seeking an Emergency Room Nurse for a part-time day shift (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) with two shifts per week, including every other weekend, plus on-call and holiday rotation. Job Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.

Minimum Experience Requirement

Priority given to ED or critical care nursing experience. Prior RN nursing experience required. New RN graduates with prior experience as an LPN, EMT or who have non-RN, but closely related experiencemay be considered for this position. Possesses organizational skills necessary in fast paced, high stress critical care setting. Demonstrates ability to properly assess patient chief complaint in order to prioritize patient needs according to severity of illness/injury and needs. Possesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles as well as hospital and ED policies and procedures; demonstrates ability to provide quality patient care in a high stress environment; communicates and works effectively with people; Basic computer skills.

Current SC Nursing License or Multi-state license or temporary SC license, BLS, ACLS and PALS are required. Certification in TNCC is preferred. (Upon initial hire, employee has six months to obtain ACLS and PALS). Physical Requirement/Working Conditions

May have irregular hours and long periods of standing. Should be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and will seek assistance when heavier objects need to be lifted. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a hospital environment. May be exposed to infectious specimens, diseases, soiled laundry, lifting and handling of heavy patients, but potential for personal harm or injury to self or others is limited when proper safety and health precautions are followed. Able to pass employee physical prior to orientation; able to maintain emotional stability; must be in good physical condition to meet the demands of an active position, including extensive walking, moderate sitting, standing and lifting; physically able to perform CPR.
