Position Summary
Brookdale Hospital Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. As an RN in this fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process. You’ll coordinate and oversee all aspects of patient care, supervise support staff, and ensure optimal outcomes for diverse patient populations in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required Certifications: TNCC, BLS, ACLS, PALS, AHA Stroke Certification
Preferred: Board Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN)
Experience:
Required: 2–3 years’ experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care based on assessment and medical plan.
Utilize the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
Supervise and delegate to LPNs, RNs on permit, nursing assistants, and other staff.
Monitor and document patient responses, ensuring timely interventions.
Prioritize and adapt care based on acuity and age-specific needs (e.g., pediatrics, geriatrics).
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff development activities.
Support orientation and training of new nursing staff.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment at all times.
