Job summary

Saint Joseph Mount Sterling is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced community hospital. You will perform assessments, deliver skilled procedures, and coordinate discharge planning as part of an interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes.

The role requires acute critical thinking, strong assessment skills, and a patient-first mindset, with growth opportunities and a commitment to excellence in a faith-based hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, upon hire.
• Registered Nurse: KY, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 months.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 months.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for patient care in the identified practice setting.
• Performs assessment and analyzes patient problems and conditions using critical thinking skills to determine need for standard, urgent or emergent interventions.
• Implements and/or modifies plan of care using assessment data, standards of care and evidence based practice inclusive of nursing care coordination, appropriate patient and family education, and discharge planning. Facilitates interdisciplinary partnership in patient care.
• Integrates ethical provisions in nursing practice and delivers care in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity and rights.
• Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Evaluates progress towards attainment of desired patient outcomes.
