We are seeking an Emergency Response Procurement and Logistics Officer, to join our International Projects team in South Sudan. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Emergency Response Program and Logistics Officer, you will have the opportunity to:
Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
Drive overall logistical excellence to ensure every project runs smoothly and on-time, safeguarding the mission's effectiveness while upholding the highest standards of integrity.
Lead procurement with precision and transparency. maintain and improve procurement systems, create consistent procurement packets, track commodities, and formally report purchase status to the Area Coordinator and senior leadership.
Build strategic partnerships for seamless operations, manage critical relationships with customs officials, airport authorities, NGOs, military logisticians, and external merchant teams to remove barriers and enable rapid, compliant delivery of aid.
Support field-operation decision-making. Work closely with the Area Coordinator to provide timely, informed recommendations that shape effective field-level actions and resource allocation.
Engage directly with those we serve by dedicating 15 % of your time to interacting with Samaritan's Purse beneficiarieschildren, young adults, and at-risk adultspromoting and protecting their welfare within the context of our ministry.

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and four (4) years' experience in Procurement and Logistics roles; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two (2) to three (3) years' experience in implementation of emergency response procurement and logistics in complex international environments preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as MOUs, agreements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and public speaking skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
The employee must be able to travel in and out of remote fields, encounter exposure to communicable diseases, and reside in austere living conditions with few amenities or resources. The security context in the country and work environment may be fluid or unstable.
12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
