Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a security officer to serve as the first responder to emergencies, safeguard people and property, and de-escalate critical incidents with sound judgment. This role supports a busy hospital environment in Augusta, GA.

The ideal candidate may have 2 years of related public safety experience, with required GED and ongoing certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, MHFA, and related programs. A valid driver license is also required.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• No experience required.
• 2 years experience in general security, military or other public safety experience preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
• Georgia POST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• Safeguard students, employees, visitors, patients and property.
• Safely de-escalate critical events with sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating subjects.
