MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will work closely with DVMs and nursing staff in a high-energy environment. The ideal candidate is a State-registered RVT with emergency experience, strong drug calculations, and excellent communication. Qualifications

• State-registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Previous veterinary experience, emergency experience preferred.
• Proficient in calculations for drugs and CRIs.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds and gather information as needed.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Coordinate treatment plans with the patient care team and nursing staff.
• Educate clients on home care, meds, and hospital updates.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation.
• Perform in-house lab tests and prep samples for outside labs.

Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician

Whatyou’lldo:

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discusscasesand gatheradditionalinformation as necessary
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
• Partner with patient care teamregardingtreatment plans, clientcommunicationand nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including, but not limitedto:home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions)and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment,treatmentand procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce andmonitorgeneral anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician licenserequired
• Prior veterinary experiencerequired,previousemergencyexperience desired
• Proficientincalculations(drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
