Job summary

MedVet in Columbus, OH is seeking an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician to join its fast-paced ER team. This role requires state RVT license and experience in veterinary care, with a $5,000 signing bonus available.

You will perform rounds, triage patients, assist DVM, monitor anesthesia, run in-house labs, educate clients, and support nursing care. MedVet offers comprehensive benefits, competitive pay, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience required; emergency experience preferred.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions).
• Flexible with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician

What you’ll do:

Who you are:
