Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a psychiatrist to perform comprehensive psychiatric emergency evaluations in the CPEP, manage acute crises, and determine disposition. You will collaborate with ED staff, supervise learners, and ensure compliant documentation under NYS laws.

The ideal candidate will have an MD/DO with an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency, board certification or eligibility, and strong skills in crisis intervention, pharmacology, and multidisciplinary care.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school and completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency.
• Demonstrated clinical competence in psychiatric emergency evaluation, crisis intervention, psychopharmacology, and multidisciplinary team-based care.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric emergency evaluations.
• Assess suicide risk, violence risk, capacity, and involuntary evaluation needs.
• Develop differential diagnoses and evidence-based treatment/disposition plans.
