Carilion Clinic is investing in emergency psychiatry with a compensation structure designed to recognize the pace, acuity, and specialized clinical judgment required in the emergency department.

• ED physician‑aligned base rate: Higher base hourly compensation commensurate with Emergency Department physicians
• Substantial shift differentials: Additional compensation for weekend and weeknight coverage
• Flexible practice model: Position may include virtual telepsychiatry coverage, with additional hourly incentive for in‑person emergency department coverage
