At, Franciscan, our Emergency Preparedness Manager leads the emergency preparedness planning efforts for Franciscan Alliance. This position supports the development of a disaster response or crisis management strategy. This role, also, implements and maintains emergency plans for the organization, and manages the Emergency Alerts program/system.

Coordinate the planning and implementation of emergency and disaster drills; prepares a report from the results of the drills and makes recommendations on how to achieve required standards or correct deficiencies.
Develop and maintain an Emergency Response Team utilizing staff from various departments within the hospital.
Inspect area for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards; take corrective action when violations occur. Implement proactive measures to mitigate violations.
Maintain an inventory of emergency equipment and supplies related to emergency preparedness; collaborate with engineering to develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule.
Meet with law enforcement officials, private companies, or other emergency services staff to get recommendations regarding emergency response plans or other support as required.
Organize emergency response, hazmat, and bioterrorism training programs for staff, volunteers, and other first responders.
Participate in and/or chairs assigned meetings or committees, including Bioterrorism Committee meetings.
Plan response to emergencies and disasters in order to minimize risk to people, property and to maximize Franciscan Alliance’s emergency response capabilities; review emergency plans of individual hospitals or agencies to ensure their adequacy.
Prepare and submit annual ISDOH grant.
Prepare staff and clinical areas for survey readiness.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/Patient Care, Maintenance/Engineer, or Emergency Management - Preferred
