Job summary

SEPTA seeks an Emergency Preparedness Analyst – Special Events & Detours to coordinate preparedness, incident response, and service continuity for major events and disruptions. You will liaise with emergency management, operations, and public safety partners to ensure safe, reliable transit operations.

The role requires developing plans, detour strategies, and situational awareness products, with emphasis on multi-agency coordination and effective communication during planned and emergency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in emergency management, Public Administration, Transportation Planning, Homeland Security, Public Safety, Urban Planning, or related field.
• Three years' experience in Emergency Management, Transportation Operations, Urban Planning.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience in Public Transportation industry is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and strong technical writing skills.
• PC experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Monitor planned events, construction, severe weather, safety incidents, demonstrations, and disruptions; assess impacts and recommend continuity measures.
• Maintain awareness of local, regional, and national events and coordinate preparedness with stakeholders.
• Conduct situational assessments and forecasting to identify impacts on infrastructure, service, and safety.
• Develop risk assessments and contingency plans to mitigate disruptions to operations.
• Coordinate planning for events and detours; support multi-agency coordination and communications.
