Job summary

This position requires strong typing, listening, and communication skills, with access to required records systems and the ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is commonly required.
• Typing, listening and clear radio communication are essential.
• Access to CJIS or similar systems may require screening.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency and nonemergency requests for police assistance.
• Document incident locations, descriptions, and hazards.
• Assign calls to officers according to priority and procedures.
• Monitor officer status and radio traffic.
• Relay updates about evolving incidents and safety concerns.
• Coordinate with neighboring agencies and other emergency services.
