The role emphasizes adherence to Iowa and Nebraska scope of practice, certification maintenance (EMT-P, BLS, ACLS, PALS), and documentation in the EMR, with opportunities for sign-on bonus up to $4,800 and educational assistance up to $5,000 for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic IA license/certification required at hire.
• High school diploma or GED required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required at hire.
• ACLS within 6 months; PALS within 6 months; Instructor credentials not required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, perform IV/IO/EJ insertions, airway management, EKG, CPR under physician supervision.
• Respond to Code 99 and trauma activations; transport patients within ED and hospital.
• Document in EMR; monitor patient conditions and re-assess vital signs and rhythms.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional, customer-service oriented attitude.
• Operate within state regulations for Paramedics (IA/NE) and maintain licenses (EMT-P, BLS, ACLS, PALS).
