Job summary

County of Delaware seeks an Emergency Management Lead to guide the Emergency Management Team under the Deputy Coordinator. The role covers planning, exercise creation, and field support for incidents and planned events.

Responsibilities include leading EOC operations, coordinating with local and federal partners, maintaining EOP/NARM/EMPG documents, and ensuring NIMS/HSEEP certifications are met. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to clearly speak, read, and write in English.
  • Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to monitor and transmit radio messages.
  • Ability to multitask with minimal direction.
  • Ability to perform efficiently under pressure of emergency operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Emergency Management Team members and operate in the field during events, exercises, and responses.
  • Oversee maintenance of emergency management equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Lead EOC/IMT operations and coordinate with external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and manage EOP, NARM, EMPG/ASOW/IPP.
  • Participate in SEPA RTF EMWG subcommittees as assigned.
  • Identify resource gaps and manage grants.
