Job description

UPMC Somerset is currently seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team!

The Department of Emergency Medicine provides emergency care staffed by trained, board-certified emergency physicians 24 hours a day. The team includes critical care trained, ACLS and PALS certified nursing staff.

Emergency care at these facilities includes immediate treatment of medical or surgical emergencies, life-saving procedures, and care for chronic conditions, minor illnesses, and injuries for patients of all ages.

Description:

• Physician will treat patients in the Emergency Room to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis.
• Physician must evaluate a variety of acuity levels, think and act quickly to make tentative diagnoses, and determine appropriate treatments.
• Physician will collaborate with providers and emergency staff as part of a team.
• UPMC emphasizes physician wellness, with staffing ratios generally less than two patients per hour.
• Position is full-time with all shift types available.

Qualifications:

• Emergency Medicine Board Eligible/Certified.
• Qualified for a medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
