Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the medical license, education and experience. Physicians may work in inpatient and/or outpatient settings as needed to ensure appropriate medical staffing. Participate in safe, effective, and compassionate patient care commensurate with level of advancement and responsibility. Examine patients to determine presence of disease, establish preventive health practices, determine nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribe and administer medications and immunizations.
  • Procedures & Data Management: Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data, and make decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment, and discontinuation of care.
  • Care Planning: Formulate, maintain, support, monitor, and modify a patient‑specific plan of care, treatment, and rehabilitation based on patient assessment and coordinate care for discharged patients.
  • Effective Communication: Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged. Provide data contributing to the assessment of a patient’s needs and organization’s capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Must be credentialed and privileged through the medical staff process and appointed to the medical staff of CCHMC prior to performing clinical duties.
  • Policy Compliance: Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and handling confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children’s mission and applicable laws and regulations. Follow Cincinnati Children’s established code of ethical behavior regarding marketing, admission, transfer, discharge and billing. Review timeliness, accuracy, availability, and security of information.
  • Site Flexibility: Clinicians may be asked to work at locations outside the Burnet Campus as CCHMC expands regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Job Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine OR Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with unrestricted license.
  • Approval/credentialing from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division.
  • Experience in specialty area may be required based on assignment.
  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), CPR.
  • Primary location: Green Township.
  • Schedule: Part‑time, Stand‑by shift, rotating.
  • Department: Emergency Medicine.
  • Employee status: Stand by; FTE 0, Weekly Hours 0.
