Job summary

Emcareers is seeking per diem Emergency Medicine physicians to join a top-rated critical access hospital in Iowa. Enjoy well-paid ED shifts (12- and 13-hour) with Epic EMR and on-site anesthesia, OB, and general surgery support.

Firm compensation at $285/hour with flexible per diem scheduling in a welcoming small-town setting. MD/DO with Iowa license or LIC eligible encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine; Family Medicine with ED experience considered.
• Active Iowa medical license or ability to obtain via IMLC.
• Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS.

Responsibilities

• Provide ED coverage for 12- to 13-hour shifts (days and nights).
• Serve as second provider on from days through swing.
• Operate within a rural CAH with on-site support from anesthesia, OB, general surgery, and hospitalists.

• About 9,000 patient visits per year
• 12- and 13-hour shifts: days (7a-7p) and nights (6p-7a)
• Second provider on from days through swing
• Epic EMR
• Rural CAH
• On-site support from anesthesia, OB, general surgery, and a hospitalist program

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine (Family Medicine Physicians with significant ED experience are encouraged to apply)
• Active Iowa medical license, or ability to obtain one (Iowa participates in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact)
• Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS
• Within reasonable driving distance of Decorah, IA (La Crosse, Rochester, Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Mason City, Dubuque, and surrounding areas)
