Job summary

The Sacramento VA Medical Center (Mather) within the VA Northern California Health Care System seeks an Emergency Medicine Physician to join a high-acuity ED. You will evaluate, stabilize, and manage adult emergencies, use bedside ultrasound, perform rapid diagnostics, and coordinate with inpatient teams.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
• Strong emergency medicine clinical skills and commitment to Veteran care.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation, stabilization, and management of high-acuity adult emergencies.
• Perform rapid diagnostics and interventions with bedside ultrasound and EKG interpretation.
• Determine disposition in collaboration with inpatient teams and services.
• Document in the VA electronic health record and participate in FPPE/OPPE and quality initiatives.
• Contribute to safety, teamwork, and veteran-focused care in a modern ED.
