Job summary

Commonwealth Medical Services seeks an Emergency Medicine Physician to provide rapid evaluation, stabilization, and care for patients with acute illnesses and injuries in a fast-paced ED. You'll perform resuscitation, interpret tests, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

You will maintain state licensure, uphold safety standards, and engage in ongoing CME activities. The role requires strong decision-making under pressure and clear patient communication.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Emergency Medicine residency completed.
• Board eligible or board certified in Emergency Medicine.
• Active and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility).
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
• Perform resuscitation, stabilization, and wound care.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests such as labs and imaging.
• Coordinate care with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Make timely clinical decisions regarding patient disposition (admission, transfer, discharge).
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
• Document findings, treatment plans, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Comply with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and continuing medical education.
