Job summary
MaineGeneral Medical Center is actively seeking a certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join a collaborative team serving Augusta and Waterville, Maine. This role offers exposure to a busy, integrated ED system with robust professional support.
Join a strong emergency medicine group with 35 physicians and 2 PAs, rotating between a regional center and a free-standing ED, handling about 58,000 visits annually, and working 9-hour shifts with extensive hospitalist backup.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree and board certification/eligibility in emergency medicine.
- Active medical licensure in Maine or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Experience in a high-volume 24/7 ED environment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency care in a 24/7 ED setting.
- Collaborate with a large physician group (35 physicians and 2 PAs).
- Rotate between Augusta-based regional center and Waterville ED.
- Contribute to high-quality patient care amid ~58,000 annual visits.
- Support shifts of around 9 hours with strong clinical backup.
