Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Physician Assistant (Emergency) in Boston to assist physician staff in delivering high-quality care. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, order appropriate tests, and develop treatment plans under physician supervision, while coordinating care with the healthcare team.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, completion of an accredited PA program, PA licensure within three months of credentialing, PA certification, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Completion of a Physician Assistant program.
• Physician’s Assistant Licensure within first 3 months of membership.
• Physician’s Assistant Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage a broad spectrum of patients and perform clinical and diagnostic procedures.
• Assess patient health status and perform physical exams.
• Develop and implement individual care plans with supervising physician.
• order labs and radiology tests as appropriate.
• Coordinate care plans and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Triage and refer when necessary.
• Provide patient and family education and preventive care counseling.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians to optimize cost-effective care.
• Orient and train new Physician Assistants and coordinate staff schedules.
• Participate in rounds with residents and manage daily assignments.
• Respond to medical emergencies during duty hours.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and standards.
