Job summary

StaffMed Health Partners in Louisiana is seeking an Emergency Medicine APP (NP or PA) to join a high-volume ED at a Level III Trauma Center in Alexandria. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, order labs and imaging, and execute emergency procedures within your scope of practice.

You will work in a team with board-certified EM physicians, nurses, and specialists, supported by MediTech EMR, with 72 hours of APP coverage across varied 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Board-certified NP or PA with active Louisiana license and prescriptive authority.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• ATLS certification.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting.
• Strong clinical judgment and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and emergency treatments for a diverse patient population.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and specialists to manage acute and non-acute cases.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging studies to support clinical decision-making.
• Document and track patients using MediTech EMR; participate in 12-hour shifts.

StaffMed Health Partners has partnered with a leading healthcare system in Louisiana to recruit experienced Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants) to join a high-volume Emergency Department at a Level III Trauma Center. This ED sees approximately 60,000 patient visits annually and offers strong APP support alongside a team of board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians.

Position Highlights

Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and emergency treatments for a diverse patient population Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and specialists to manage both acute and non-acute cases Order and interpret lab and imaging studies to support clinical decision-making Perform emergency procedures as appropriate within APP scope of practice Document and track patients using MediTech EMR 72 hours of daily APP coverage with 12-hour shifts and varied start times (8 AM, 9 AM, 10 AM, 1 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM)
