Job summary

The Society of Emergency Medicine PAs (SEMPA) seeks an Emergency Medicine APP to support patient care at Atrium Cabarrus Medical Center in the Charlotte area. The role involves independent and collaborative procedures and direct patient care within state licensure.

Requirements include 2+ years in emergency medicine and a valid NC PA license. Schedule features 10‑hour shifts with nights, weekends and holidays; competitive benefits and CME support are provided.

Responsibilities

• Augments physician care by scheduling, supervising, and/or performing complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Emergency Medicine setting.
• Participates in direct patient care within authority granted by state boards.
• Work at Atrium Cabarrus Medical Center with some flow to freestanding EDs (Kannapolis & Harrisburg).

Job description

Augments a physician's ability to provide patient care services by independently and interdependently scheduling, supervising, and/or conducting complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and/or surgeries in the Emergency Medicine setting. Participates independently in the delivery of direct patient care within the scope of the individual authority granted by the applicable state State Boards of Medical Examiners.

WFEP Atrium Cabarrus Sites APP Job Scope

Location:

Greater Charlotte, NC. Concord, NC. Kannapolis, NC, Harrisburg, NC. Cabarrus County

Staff:

33 full time physicians and 22 full time APPs.

Role:

Working at Atrium Cabarrus Medical Center primarily. CAB is a level 3 trauma center with 40 ED beds. Will also have some flow to freestanding EDs: Atrium Kannapolis and Atrium Harrisburg.

Experience: 2 + years of emergency medicine experience.

Licensure:

Must have NC PA license

Schedule:

10 hr shifts. 130 hrs/month or 151.67 hrs/month negotiable based on the candidate's preference. Need to be able to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift and nights, weekends and holidays. For the most part, overnights are covered by Nocturnists who like that schedule but there will still be some. 2-4 nights per month is typical if not a Nocturnist.
