Job description

Emergency Medicine Wisconsin

Need coverage 6-8+ shifts/month in Stevens Point. Only interested in locums with that type of availability for ongoing needs.

Facilities include Marshfield Medical Center-River Point and Wisconsin Rapids (combined departments, providers are credentialed at both locations).

Stevens Point shifts are 12 hours, from 7a-7p and 7p-7a.

Wisconsin Rapids is a new hospital opening on 10/4/23. Preference for 24-hour shifts starting at 7a, but 12-hour shifts are also acceptable.

The department is a combined ED/UC with single coverage.

Preference for ABEM certified providers.

Opportunities to float to other locations such as Eau Claire, Minocqua, Park Falls should be noted when submitting a big.

Stevens Point's average daily volume is between 25-30 patients, with only 3-5 being actual ER patients. An APC covers inpatient and UC patients from 10AM-5PM on weekdays.

Additional facilities include:

• A twelve-bed inpatient unit staffed during the day by an NP, with tele-hospitalist coverage at night. Tele-stroke services are planned. Other specialty care is available at Marshfield or Weston.
• On-site lab, x-ray, and CT; no unscheduled MRI. Point of care ultrasound available for ED providers, with potential for ultrasound services on weekends and evenings.
• Experienced nursing support is available.
