Hospital in Massachusetts Seeking Multiple Locum Emergency Medicine Physicians ASAP Start Locums Job Assignment

Shifts and Hours: Days and Nights - focus on nights for June, and then in July will need day and night coverage

Dates of Coverage: June 2025, ongoing. Starting in June 8-10 shifts per month needed. July + ongoing will be a consistent 10-12 shifts per month.

Details/Requirements:
Percent (%) of Total Hospital Admissions Received from ED: 15%
Percent (%) of ED Patients Admitted to the Hospital per Day: 15%
Percent (%) of ED Patients Transferred per Day: 1-2 pts per day
Trauma Level/Designation: None - we are a community hospital
Total Number of Beds: 44
Annual ER Volume: 55,000
Number of ED Physicians in Group: 11 total physicians of which 5 are leaving
Fast track in ED
Fast Track Staffed APP
Percent (%) of Total ED Volume Treated by Fast Track: 40%
Locum physician be required to supervise other Health Care Providers: APPs
Documentation System/EMR: Epic
ED Staff Respond to House Codes
Secondary to ED emergencies, there is a response team. ED does airway on that team.
Hospitalists Write Admission Orders
Response Time for On Call Physicians: 30 minutes or less
Deliveries sent Directly to Labor & Delivery
ED Responsible for Monitoring/Supervising Paramedics/Ambulance by Radio
Ambulance Response Time & Travel Referral Facility: within 20-30 minutes
24 Hour Availability for Radiology (CT, MRI, X-Ray)
24 Hour Availability for Laboratory
Blood Bank - Certified by AABB
24 Hour Availability for the OR
24 Hour Availability for Anesthesia
EM docs do EKG Interpretations
Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: need approximately 4 weeks to get mandatory onboarding functions completed

Requirements:
Board Certified (ABEM and AOBEM) or Board Eligible with 5 years of Residency
Active Massachusetts license required
