Job description

Mercy Medical Center is seeking multiple locum EM providers to start July 1!

Specific dates needed currently: July 1-6, 11-12. Ongoing need TBD. Multiple shifts available on these dates!

Shifts and Hours: Days and Nights. Focus on nights for June; starting in July, both day and night coverage are needed.

Coverage Dates: June 2025, ongoing. Starting with 8-10 shifts per month in June; 10-12 shifts per month ongoing from July.

Hospital Details:

• Percent of hospital admissions from ED: 15%
• Percent of ED patients admitted: 15%
• Patients transferred per day: 1-2
• Trauma Level: None (community hospital)
• Total beds: 44
• Annual ER volume: 55,000

Staffing and Services:

• Number of ED physicians: 11 (5 leaving)
• Fast track in ED; staffed APP; treats 40% of ED volume
• Supervision of APPs required
• EMR system: Epic
• ED responds to house codes; airway on response team
• Admission orders written by hospitalists
• Response time for on-call physicians: 30 minutes or less
• Transfers to Saint Francis Hospital (~20-30 mins away)

Support Services:

• Radiology, Laboratory, OR, Anesthesia: 24/7 availability
• Blood bank certified by AABB
• EKG interpretations by ED physicians

Credentialing: Approximately 4 weeks for onboarding. Client covers travel expenses.

Additional Services:

• Pathology: Clinical, Anatomical
• Surgical: CT, Vascular, Ortho

Consultants: Radiologist, Critical Care Intensivist, Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, Gastroenterologist, Neurologist, Urologist, Hematologist/Oncologist, Psychiatrist

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certified (ABEM, AOBEM) or Board Eligible with 5 years of Residency
• Active MA License
