JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine
• Licenses: Active unrestricted LA Medical License; DEA with LA address; LA Controlled Substance; Supervising Physician License
• DEA / CDS: Active DEA and LA Controlled Substance required
• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BLS (PALS required only if not BC in EM or EM trained)
• Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine; new graduates accepted
• Other Qualifications: Case logs for past 2 years; CME records for past 2 years including 10 hours Trauma/Stroke annually; Must meet supervising physician requirements for NP/PA oversight; Completion of sedation modules during onboarding

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide 24-hour physician coverage for the Emergency Department
• Supervise NP/PA staff providing 10-hour daily coverage
• Manage an approximate daily volume of 52 patients
• Perform standard emergency medicine procedures and coordinate with on-call specialists
• Complete required sedation training modules and participate in quality programs
