Job description

OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a Board-Certified/Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for a Full-Time Nocturnist position to join Illinois Emergency Medicine Specialists (IEMS). The work schedule includes at least 120 hours of coverage per month and will be cross-credentialed at our UChicago Medicine AdventHealth locations. Benefits include night stipends, no call, no lottery, and preferential scheduling.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT:

IEMS provides emergency medicine services at four AdventHealth locations in Chicago: Glen Oaks Medical Center, Hinsdale Medical Center, La Grange Medical Center, and Bolingbrook Medical Center. We offer 24/7/365 coverage staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. All sites are trauma level II, use Cerner EMR, and are supported by specialty backup, nursing, and administrative staff. Recently, we expanded to include Resilience Healthcare sites at Weiss Memorial Hospital and West Suburban Medical Center in downtown Chicago.

Emergency Department Statistics:

• Glen Oaks Medical Center: approximately 23,000 visits annually, 19 ER beds, 21,000 sq ft
• Hinsdale Medical Center: approximately 27,000 visits annually, 26 ER beds, Family Medicine residency onsite
• La Grange Medical Center: approximately 32,000 visits annually, 24 ER beds, Family Medicine residency onsite
• Bolingbrook Medical Center: approximately 38,500 visits annually, 19 ER beds

Resilience Healthcare Sites: both are Level III Geriatric Trauma centers:

• Weiss Memorial Hospital: 17,000 visits, 20 ER beds, Internal Medicine and Podiatry residencies
• West Suburban Medical Center: 51,000 visits, 25 ER beds (including 8 fast-track), residencies in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine

AdventHealth, a faith-based system, is Illinois' largest health system, serving Chicago's suburbs for over 100 years. IEMS partners with AMITA Health Adventist to cover emergency departments within an hour of downtown Chicago:

• Bolingbrook Medical Center: 138 beds, serving since 2008, includes pain management and Hepatitis C clinics.
• Hinsdale Medical Center: 261 beds, serving for over 100 years, includes cancer center, Level III Perinatal, neonatal ICU, robotic surgeries.
• Glen Oaks Medical Center: 143 beds, over 40 years, includes therapeutic day school and Hepatitis C clinic.
• La Grange Medical Center: 186 beds, since 1955, offers robotic surgeries, orthopedic, and cardiovascular care.
