Job summary

Altru Health is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients at Altru Hospital in Devils Lake, ND. You will provide comprehensive care for injuries and illnesses, counsel on preventive health, and exercise professional judgment consistent with Altru policies.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Doctorate in medical practice from an accredited school.
  • Must be admissible to sit for either the Canadian or American Board or be certified by the Canadian Board and be a member of the Royal College of Physicians or Royal College of Surgeons, American board certification or AOA.
  • Board certification in specialty must be obtained within six years of employment.
  • Must be granted medical staff appointments at Altru and associated facilities as necessary to perform duties.
  • Must be insurable under the Health System's professional liability carrier prior to commencement of employment.
  • Must be legally licensed to practice medicine by the North Dakota Board of Medicine and/or Minnesota Board of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Exercises Doctor's own judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of patients in line with Altru policies and standards.
  • Achieves the Altru Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals established annually.
  • Participates in activities and supports department goals as defined by the department annually.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation ensuring quality patient care and appropriate reimbursements to Altru.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Doctorate in medical practice
Licensed to practice in ND and/or MN
Board certification within 6 years of employment

Summary

The Emergency Medicine Physician's role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients at Altru, providing comprehensive care for injuries and illnesses. Emergency Medicine Physician responsibilities include counseling patients on preventive healthcare measures and exercising professional judgment in alignment with Altru's policies and standards. The position requires achieving annual Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals, supporting department objectives, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation to ensure quality patient care and appropriate reimbursement.

Essential Job Functions
