Job summary

Emergency Medical Specialists in Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced physician to evaluate, diagnose, and manage ED patients. You will perform comprehensive exams, develop management policies, and coordinate referrals with other healthcare professionals.

The role requires MD, residency training, and board certification or eligibility, with the ability to work day, night, and swing shifts in a fast-paced setting. We value leadership and clear communication across multiple specialties.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, treat and manage ED patients
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
• Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
• Facilitate referrals, transfers, outpatient follow ups and admit to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
• Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care

Required Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree in Medicine from an accredited institution, plus 3-4 years' experience in a residency program.
• Must be board certified or board eligible and licensed to practice medicine.
• In-depth knowledge of current medical treatments and procedures, demonstrated proficiency in all credentialed emergent procedures.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Strong leadership qualities and ability to facilitate care with multiple specialties
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; ability to work with APPs and teach new skills to ED colleagues (techs, nurses, APPs) as appropriate.
• Ability to think, act quickly, and perform in a stressful and ever-changing environment.
• Must be able to provide day, night and swing shift coverage as required

Work Environment

Fast-paced emergency department requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing hands-on procedures.
