Alameda Health System (AHS) is seeking Full-Time and Services-As-Needed Emergency Medicine Physicians to staff San Leandro and Alameda Hospitals in the Division of Community Emergency Medicine.
AHS is an integrated public health system spanning 5 facilities, 4 ambulatory sites and 800 beds providing primary, specialty, Stroke, STEMI, and Level 1 Trauma in addition to supporting several residency programs. Our safety net system is dedicated to serving our surrounding communities with safe, equitable, and high-quality care guided by the AHS mission of Caring, Healing, Teaching, Serving All. The Division of Community Medicine team works with nurses, specialists, and support staff to provide excellent care to the East Bays highly diverse patient community. The Division of Community Emergency Medicine is part of the Highland Hospital-based Department of Emergency Medicine.

Emergency Medicine physicians are responsible for providing expert, safe, efficient, patient-centered, and cost-effective care within the Emergency Department and responding to in-house emergencies at the Hospital. Their role includes triaging, taking patient histories and physical examinations, interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests, correlating subjective and objective data, diagnosing, and writing orders for all patients who present to the Department. This position reports directly to the Medical Directors and Division Chief of Community Emergency Medicine, under the overall leadership of the Chair of the Emergency Medicine Department.
Pay Range: $169.66-$179.86 / Hour
The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
