Job summary

ARC Health is seeking one or two ABEM-certified Emergency Medicine physicians for 12-hour night shifts in rural Alaska on a locum tenens or permanent basis. Start date ASAP for December through early January.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable practicing solo in a resource-limited setting, stabilize and ship trauma, and hold Alaska licensure (or be eligible). This 17-bed ED offers telehealth support and statewide Cerner connectivity, with flights and housing provided.

Qualifications

• ABEM-certified emergency physician required.
• Experienced in solo ED coverage in resource-limited settings.
• Mission-driven, culturally humble and adaptable.
• Alaska license preferred (can be supported).
• Comfortable stabilizing and shipping trauma patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide 12-hour night coverage in a busy ED.
• Stabilize trauma and arrange safe transport as needed.
• Operate in a resource-limited environment with telehealth support.

• No surgery; OB unit is midwife-led with risk-out protocols
• Referral center: Alaska Native Medical Center (via air transport)
