HealthYes Staffing Network is recruiting an Emergency Medicine Physician for a permanent opportunity at a rural Northern Maine hospital. The role blends 12-hour shifts with a scheduling pattern of 3/4 weeks, a busy ED with 16,000 annual visits, and strong APP support to maintain sustainable practice.

The candidate will be MD or DO trained, board-certified/board-eligible in EM (or in Family/Internal Medicine with ED experience), and eligible for an unrestricted Maine license.

Job description

HealthYes Staffing Network is recruiting an Emergency Medicine Physician for a permanent opportunity with a community-focused hospital in Northern Maine. This opening combines the clinical variety of a 24-hour emergency department with scheduling flexibility and the support physicians need to build a sustainable long-term practice.

The emergency department treats approximately 16,000 patients annually. Physicians work alongside experienced emergency nurses and advanced practice providers, with APPs helping manage lower-acuity visits. The patient population includes a meaningful number of older adults, and common presentations include cardiac and respiratory concerns. Patients requiring services beyond the hospital’s scope are stabilized and transferred to regional tertiary centers.

Candidate profile:

• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with substantial emergency-department experience
• Eligible for an unrestricted Maine medical license
• Comfortable evaluating and stabilizing a broad range of adult and pediatric emergencies
• Prepared to collaborate with nurses, advanced practice providers, emergency medical services, and receiving facilities
