The emergency department treats approximately 16,000 patients annually. Physicians work alongside experienced emergency nurses and advanced practice providers, with APPs helping manage lower-acuity visits. The patient population includes a meaningful number of older adults, and common presentations include cardiac and respiratory concerns. Patients requiring services beyond the hospital’s scope are stabilized and transferred to regional tertiary centers.
