Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Pharmacist Specialist in Emergency Medicine for a full-time position on the second shift in Lexington, KY. The role emphasizes clinical services, medication management, and collaboration with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include drug information, antimicrobial stewardship, patient counseling, and supervision of dispensing and staff. Requires Kentucky pharmacist license, ACLS within 6 months, and 1–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree required and current licensure in Kentucky.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• 1–3 years of related hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as drug information expert and resource for medication management.
• Provide comprehensive decentralized or pharmacy clinical services including anticoagulation, pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing, and nutrition support.
• Participate in antimicrobial and opioid stewardship and patient counseling.
• Collaborate with inter-professional teams to support transitions of care and discharge planning.
• Review orders for accuracy (drug, dose, route, frequency, allergies, interactions) to ensure safe therapy.
• Oversee dispensing, reconciliation, controlled substances, and recalls; supervise technicians and pharmacy staff.
