The position supports patient safety through accurate medication preparation, interpretation of orders, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and staff. It offers 0.8 FTE with in-person shifts across days/evenings/overnights.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree or equivalent.
• Minnesota pharmacist license required.
• Board certification in emergency medicine or critical care preferred.
• ASHP PGY-2 in emergency medicine or critical care or residency preferred or 5+ years EM pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Verifies, prepares, compounds and accurately dispenses medications
• Interprets physician orders for accuracy; suggests alternative therapy as needed
• Maintains patient medication profiles and monitors for appropriate therapy
• Monitors patient reactions to drug therapy
• Counsels patients about their prescriptions
• Adheres to legal and departmental policies for drug distribution
• Assumes charge pharmacist responsibilities as needed
• Precepts fellows, residents or PharmD students
• Provides in-service education to staff
• Supports department and organizational goals
• Assesses pharmacotherapy needs and intervenes with medical staff
• Evaluates medical information for physicians
• Supervises technicians and interns
