Job summary
Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the Emergency Department. You will perform full patient care for urgent and acute cases, from initial assessment to disposition, coordinate with the care team, and educate staff and patients.
Applicants must hold a Master of Science in Nursing or PA credential, NM license, DEA, and ANCC certification.
Qualifications
- For Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, required graduate degree and applicable licensure.
- Current state credentials and national certification are required.
- Experience in emergency or urgent care settings is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide full patient care in ED for urgent and acute cases.
- Perform initial assessments, order/interpret diagnostics, treat conditions and arrange disposition.
- Coordinate with physicians and other staff to optimize care and autonomy.
- Review labs/x-rays, refill medications, educate patients, and support chronic care where appropriate.
- Educate RNs, LPNs, and students; participate in meetings and policy development.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with coding for billing; participate in monthly call shifts.
